Beach body in 4 weeks – The clean way

So moving from Australia to North America I realised I had gained several kilograms of unwanted body fat regardless of maintaining a relatively healthy eating habit and keeping up my general exercise routine.

I blamed it on the urban lifestyle, reaching for more comfort foods, having less motivation to exercise on average particularly during the harsh Canadian winters and the denial that my metabolism was slowing down with age.

I’ve never been a believer in dieting rather in eating wholesome foods and complimenting it with exercise regularly on a weekly basis. Given those stubborn few kilograms of weight that I wanted to lose wasn’t coming off I decided with another friend to try Bodyism’s ‘bikini program’ devised by Elle McPherson’s trainer James Duigan.

These were our results after the 4 week bikini program:

1) Weight loss of 3.5 – 4 kgs
2) Increase in lean body tone – This is fairly obvious after 1 week in the program
3) Glowing skin – Received compliments from friends and colleagues on this
4) Faster and more clarity in thought processes
5) Increased positive mood
6) Increased energy levels
7) The weight stays off post program – 6 months after the program the weight was easy to keep off

Hopefully, you will feel so revived you won’t rush back into your old eating habits. Make a conscious effort to continue these clean- eating principles. By all means, enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, just don’t overdo it. However, a good rule to live by is 80/20: 80 per cent wholefood, 20 per cent indulgence. Dust off that bikini and hit the beach this year as a healthy, cleansed, lighter you.
